GROWTH MINDSET: what does it look like
HOW TO CULTIVATE A GROWTH MINDSET? LET S LEARN FROM NATURE ….
After being back from an inspiring trip in north Thailand, close to the borders , where I had my first experience of being engaged with my mindfulness & nature-based coaching skills in a multi days trek inside the jungle of giant banyan and bamboo trees,I found myself going through some unexpected sensations before some potential opportunities.
Even if I am conscious that those ll bring me some personal and professional growth but a kind of self-doubt and concerns are present too. I then called in my practice taught by T.Brach as "sacred pause " in order to give space to what there and here my inquiries :
What does a growth mindset look like ?
where can I find support?
Well, I found that Nature fits perfectly into the role of my mentor. What can we learn from her?
Nature has always been a powerful teacher, offering us insights that go beyond its surface beauty. One of its greatest lessons is how we can cultivate a growth mindset by embracing CHANGES, CHALLENGES SO TO HAVE A CONTINUOUS GROWTH .
So, what might be the steps to Cultivating a growth mindset inspired by nature?
1. Shift perspective: Start by viewing challenges as opportunities to learn. Just like nature doesn’t fear change, neither should we.
2. Practice patience: Allow yourself time to grow and develop, understanding that true growth often takes time.
3. Be open to feedback: Just as nature constantly adapts, we too must remain open to feedback and adjust our approaches accordingly.
4. Embrace setbacks: Look at obstacles as a way to grow stronger, much like how plants push through the soil to reach the light.
5. Stay grounded and connected: Like a tree with deep roots, connect to your foundation—whether it’s your purpose, your support system, or your values—to keep you steady on your growth journey.
6. Embrace Impermanence
Nature is always in flux—seasons change, plants grow, wilt, and regrow. This teaches us that change is inevitable and part of growth. A growth mindset recognizes that challenges and setbacks are not failures, but opportunities for transformation.
Realizing that is a process and can be a very interesting process if we do not only focus only on the outcomes , so what are the benefits of cultivating a growth mindset:?
1. Increase Resilience
A growth mindset helps you bounce back from setbacks and failures, viewing them as valuable learning experiences rather than insurmountable obstacles. This resilience allows you to keep moving forward, even when things get tough.
2. Enhanced Motivation
When you believe that skills and intelligence can be developed, you’re more likely to take on challenges and put in the effort required to improve. This leads to greater intrinsic motivation to keep growing and learning.
3. Greater Creativity and Problem-Solving
With a growth mindset, you’re more open to trying new things, experimenting, and thinking outside the box. This openness fosters creativity and a willingness to solve problems in innovative ways.
4.. The Importance of Balance
Nature thrives when all elements are balanced—water, sunlight, air, soil, and creatures all work together harmoniously. In life, find a balance between work, rest, and personal growth ensures we stay energized, motivated, and focused.
5/ Manage stress
A growth mindset helps reduce the pressure of needing to be perfect or avoid mistakes. Instead, it encourages embracing challenges as part of the process, which can alleviate stress and anxiety.
6. Continuous Learning and Development
Because you see learning as an ongoing journey, you’re constantly seeking opportunities for personal and professional development. This results in lifelong learning and continuous self-improvement.
7. Increased Confidence
As you overcome challenges and see yourself grow, your self-confidence increases. You begin to trust your ability to learn, adapt, and achieve your goals.
8. Stronger Relationships
A growth mindset encourages empathy and collaboration. In personal and professional relationships, you’re more likely to view differences and challenges as opportunities for growth and mutual support.
9 Greater Success
Over time, a growth mindset leads to better outcomes because it keeps you focused on the process, not just the result. By continually learning and adapting, you’re more likely to achieve long-term success.
Nature’s constant cycles of growth, renewal, adaptation, improvement , create beauty
What are my takeaways ? be patient, stay grounded, embrace impermanence and setbacks as new learning
